A recent DOT study has revealed that 19 out of the 50 intersections with the highest traffic accident frequencies within the state are located in Bismarck-Mandan. That equates to 38%.
A map of local crash incidents from 2010-2012 indicates that the highest frequency of local crashes happens along the State Street corridor, particularly where it intersects with Century Avenue. The I-94 interchange at Tyler Parkway (Divide Avenue) is another noteworthy intersection seeing a high frequency of crashes. Several intersections along Expressway and Main Avenue also contain a number of high-frequency crashes.
On the Mandan side, the 46th Avenue intersection on the Strip had the highest frequency of crashes in 2010-2012.
