Arrowhead Shopping Plaza
Arrowhead Plaza was Bismarck's first shopping center when it opened in 1954. It still houses many of its original tenants, including the first Dan's Supervalu.

Downtown Business District
Downtown Bismarck is a national historic district, home to many businesses - mostly locally owned. Downtown was once the region's major business hub, home to the biggest chains of the time from F.W. Woolworth to Montgomery Ward.

Gateway Fashion Mall in 2009. Gateway Mall
Gateway Fashion Mall, as it's called today, opened in September 1979 with original anchors Sears, White Mart, Osco Drug, and A.W. Lucas, all of which had previously been located downtown. The mall recently completed a major renovation.

Kirkwood Plaza Shopping Center
Kirkwood Mall, as it is more commonly known,
drastically altered the Bismarck landscape when it opened in April 1971. It has always been the largest shopping mall in the region, and added a south wing in 1980 with 2 new anchors, Target and JCPenney.

Northbrook Mall Was The First Enclosed Shopping Center in Bismarck - Constructed in 1959 Northbrook Mall
Northbrook Mall was Bismarck's second shopping center, and first fully enclosed center. It opened in 1959 and later expanded.

Pinehurst Square Shopping Center
Pinehurst Square is a "power center" type mall that opened in 2005. The center is home to several "big box" retailers, most of which were newcomers to Bismarck. Its development was the single largest project since Kirkwood Mall, 35 years earlier.

State Street Corridor
The State Street Corridor is a major business hub stemming from the interchange of State Street (U.S. 83) and Interstate 94. Major businesses located along the corridor include Gateway Mall, Kmart, Wal-Mart, Menards, Dan's Supermarket; along with numerous restaurants and hotels.
