Century Avenue is a four-lane divided major arterial running east-west through north Bismarck. The newly widened Century Avenue is the designed to accommodate most of the eastbound vehicles in north Bismarck. Century Avenue is named for Century High School, which opened during the nation's bicentennial in 1976. The road runs from the Pinehurst Shopping Center in west Bismarck to the Century Park mobile home community in far east Bismarck.

Speed limit is 35 MPH throughout most of Century Avenue. In addition to Pinehurst Center, Century also runs just north of Gateway Fashion Mall and just south of Century High School, which are located directly across from each other. Other major retailers, including Dan's Super Market, Kmart, and Menards are located very near Century Avenue.

From the 1970s until the 1990s, Century Avenue marked the northern edge of the city. Century Avenue bisects State Street, and is located within the State Street Corridor.
