5 fire trucks responded to a fire at a multi-unit home at the corner of 21st Street and Rosser Avenue this evening, displacing its residents.
The fire was reported shortly after 6pm and took more than an hour to extinguish. Flames and smoke were visible from the home’s attic. An official cause has not been confirmed; however, an interview with a resident indicates that it may have been a bathroom fan shorting out.
According to a press release, firefighters had to tear down sheet rock to expose the fire. Most of the damage was limited to the home’s attic and second level. Damage is estimated at $40,000.
No injuries were reported.
