Kirkwood Ace Hardware owner Jeff Hintz has announced plans to add a second Bismarck location, this one a bit further north. The second Ace location will be situated off State Street and 43rd Avenue near the north Walmart.
According to an interview with KX News, Hintz stated that another major retailer will be joining Ace, along with spaces for a few other tenants. Hintz was mum on who those neighboring tenants may be, however.
The new location will be roughly 30,000 square feet – about twice the size of its current location.
Kirkwood Ace Hardware, which originally opened as Kirkwood Hardware Hank, relocated to its current location, just east of Kirkwood Mall, in 2007 from its original 3rd Street location (which now houses the Goodwill store). Party America joined Ace as its neighbor shortly thereafter. The building originally houses Friendly True Value.
Jeff Hintz has owned the store since 1990.
