The former Home Depot building may still be empty, but part of the property will soon be a hustle of activity. A 4-story extend-stay hotel, Residence Inn by Marriott, will be constructed in the northwest corner of the former Home Depot lot. The hotel is expected to open next summer.
Home Depot closed its Bismarck store in 2008 after only 3 years. Its former building was sold at auction to a group of investors in 2010, but currently remains vacant.
