Two conflicting reports have emerged today on the sale of St. Alexius Medical Center.
KFYR-TV first reported the hospital’s sale at 9:32 this morning. KXMB later cited the sale as “premature” and, along with KFYR, posted a response from the CEO of St. Alexius stating that negotiations are still ongoing with no definitive agreement yet in place.
While the sale doesn’t appear to be final, it also seems likely that the state’s oldest hospital will soon be under an ownership change.
St. Alexius was the first hospital in Dakota Territory when it opened in the former Lamborn Hotel in 1885.
