Money Magazine’s annual “Best Places To Live” list places Bismarck at #74. Two other North Dakota cities made the top 100 list, Fargo placed #79 and Grand Forks #91.
The article cites Bismarck’s low unemployment rate, abundance of parkland, numerous golf courses, two top-notch healthcare facilities, and a “bustling” restaurant scene as factors leading to our rank.
No North Dakota city placed in the top 100 last year, which only ranked cities under 50,000 citizens. In 2010, the last list to include cities with populations between 50,000 and 300,000, Bismarck also placed #74, with Fargo and Grand Forks at #86 and #97, respectively.
Carmel, Indiana topped this year’s list.
