Saint Alexius has signed an agreement with Catholic Health Initiatives to become a direct affiliate, KFYR-TV reports. The 129-year-old local hospital will remain under local control and continue its relationship with the Benedictine Sisters of Annunciation Monastery.
This news puts to rest rumors of the hospital’s actual sale.
St. Alexius was the first hospital in Dakota Territory when it was established in the former Lamborn Hotel in 1885.
