Originally built for Lahr Motor Sales, then later housing Montgomery Ward, this building, although appearing much different, still bares the “Wards” name.
Montgomery Ward was an original anchor at Kirkwood Mall when it opened in 1971, and closed in 1998. The former Wards space at Kirkwood now houses I. Keating Furniture.
Following Montgomery Ward, Finney Drug was at one time housed in this building after relocating from the Grand Pacific Hotel.
Downtown Bismarck is a registered historic district that held strong importance to the initial growth and success of the Bismarck area. Bismarck’s downtown is roughly located between Washington Street & 7th Street; and Rosser Avenue and Main Avenue.
