Long-time Bismarck teacher, Todd Tschosik, submitted his resignation to the school board Thursday, citing personal reasons. The teacher has been in the spotlight of recent, most prominently for a scuffle last February with his then-fiance Kirsten Baesler, the state’s Superintendent of Public Instruction.
The resignation came two days after Tschosik was escorted from school grounds after calling into a Fargo radio program during work hours, to discuss his past relationship with Baesler.
Following several unannounced absences and at least two DUI instances, school administrators had previously placed Tschosik, 49, on an improvement plan. Tschosik was also arrested last summer for allegedly assaulting Baesler in a Florida hotel room. Those charges were later dismissed.
His resignation is pending school board approval.
