Mandan’s popular Raging Rivers Waterpark is nearly complete with a roughly $1 million renovation project.
The upgrades include a new aqua play area that features a “300-gallon tip bucket, slides, water guns, tunnels and a higher standard of play equipment,” according to the Mandan Parks and Recreation website. Other improvements include waterslide and lazy river base renovations.
The renovations come on the heels of the park’s worst season since Mandan Parks and Recreations purchased the facility in 2009, with only 38,000 visitors – nearly half of the park’s best year on record of over 65,000 visitors in 2012.
The improvements are expected to be completed by the time the park opens on May 29.
