After more than 20 years, Snooper’s Tons of Fun is closing in July. In its place, the new Bisman Community Food Co-op store will soon be moving in.
The Food Co-op recently hired experienced grocer Randy Joersz as its general manager. According to the Co-op’s website, Joersz got his start in the business as a bagger in the early 1970s for his grandfather at Bill’s Super Valu in New Salem, before moving his way into a management position in 1981.
Locals may remember the former Bill’s Supervalu store in Mandan, which went onto become the recently shuttered Central Market.
Located at 711 E Sweet Avenue, the Food Co-op is expected to open in 2016. Snoopers, which also once maintained a north Bismarck location – branded “Bump’N Tilt” – opened in 1994. The building originally housed an electronics and appliance store called Rosenbaum’s.
