I just want to communicate my appreciation for the legislature voting against building another Governor’s mansion.
Yes, our Governor’s mansion doesn’t impress the passers-by and seemingly blends in with other ranch-style houses. But, I think it speaks volume to the type of people we are… practical and down-to-Earth. We aren’t flashy, flamboyant people and we don’t need a flashy mansion to impress everyone.
The Governor himself doesn’t see a need for a new mansion. I don’t see a need either.
