A prominent Mandan politician and education administrator has died. A. R. “Archie” Shaw, the former mayor of Mandan, former superintendent of Mandan Public Schools, and former state representative, was 91.
Shaw served as mayor from 1968-1972 and two years as a state representative. He also spent 34 years with the school district, 8 of which as superintendent.
The funeral will be held Friday at Christ the King in Mandan at 10:30 with a public visitation on Thursday at Weigel Funeral Home from 4:00pm-8:00pm.
