Official 2010 Census figures have been released, showing a population gain of 30,391 for the state of North Dakota during the past decade to 672,591. The percentage increase is just above 4.7%, which is more than double the expected 2% – about 20,000 higher than most forecasts.
Nevada lead the nation with the highest percentage gain at 35.1%. Michigan, as expected, saw the biggest population drop.
Nationwide population grew by 9.7% to 308.7 million.
