Bismarck’s largest movie theater is about to get even bigger.
Grand Theatre has submitted plans for another addition, which would increase its screen count from 15 to 22. According to the plans, the Hodge Podge building will be demolished as part of the expansion and additional parking will be added at the former Green Thumb Nursery lot. The expansion is expected to be completed by November of next year.
Grand Theatre was built in 1984 with four screens. It has seen many expansions over the years, including one in 2001, around the closing of Kirkwood’s Plaza 3. Another expansion had occurred in or around 1993.
