Burger Time is a regional chain of fast food restaurants emphasizing a simplistic burger menu. As of 2018, there are 10 locations in 4 states. Its first location in Missouri is expected to open soon.
The chain originated in 1987 in Fargo before expanding, beginning with Moorhead and St. Cloud. Bismarck’s location opened in 1989.
With few exceptions, including its Minot location, Burger Time restaurants have no indoor seating. Customers are serviced only through drive-through (sometimes dual drive-throughs) or walk-up windows. Until recently, the restaurant boasted dual drive-through lanes, however, the east lane, which offered only service through on the vehicle’s passenger side, has since been closed off.
Burger Time features a stripped-down operation consisting of limited menu items and no indoor seating.
In 2010, the chain opened its first two locations in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metro, in White Bear Lake and Burnsville. These locations stood apart from its traditional format, resembling a fast casual format with indoor seating. Even its logo varied, but pictures of the Bismarck restaurant were displayed inside. These two locations shuttered within about six months. However, Burger Time returned to the Twin Cities with a location in West Saint Paul in 2016. That location is in-line with its traditional format.
In 2013, the company announced plans for a second Bismarck location, among other additions across western North Dakota. As of 2018, these have not materialized. The restaurant has seen some minor remodeling, including replacing its pylon sign.
