Eide Ford (previously Ford-Lincoln-Mercury) is an auto dealership located at 800 E Bismarck Expressway. The company also owns Eide Chrysler (former Corwin-Churchill Motors) and announced the purchase of Mandan’s Bill Barth Ford in July 2022.
Allan Eide and Brad Kirschmann originated the dealership in 1981, occupying the former McCarney Service Center at 2400 E Broadway Avenue (today’s Spaedy Office Plaza). Eide also owned a Lincoln-Mercury dealership, and previously a Toyota-Mercedes Benz dealership, both in Grand Forks. Kirschmann had worked for Fleck’s Motors and Tierney Chevrolet locally, as well as for Eide in Grand Forks.
It was the first time in fifteen years that a Ford dealership existed in Bismarck, since Holmes Ford closed in 1978. Holmes Ford was the successor to McCarney Ford one year prior, which purchased Universal Motors in 1957. McCarney moved the dealership to the East Broadway Avenue location two years later. It operated there until 1977. McCarney opened a service-only center there in 1980 and its employees were absorbed by Eide-Kirschmann.
Eide took over full ownership in about 1985 and, in 1990, relocated to its present-day dealership, which was first constructed as a cost of $1 million.
