Seven Seas was the original name of today’s Baymont by Wyndham in northwest Mandan, as well as the restaurant once housed inside.
Seven Seas Motor Inn opened in April 1971 with 106 rooms, 340-person banquet area, 116-seat dining area, and 80-capacity cocktail area. A service station, located immediately to its east, was also part of the project. The hotel and accompanying restaurant featured a nautical theme complete with a ship’s wheel and portal-style windows. It became Baymont by Wyndham in about 2016, dropping the Seven Seas moniker.
A Seven Seas dining establishment previously existed in the Greengard Commercial Building, which was destroyed by fire in 1970.
