Village Inn Pancake House is a national casual family diner. Bismarck once had two locations, with the first opening at 405 South Seventh Street in December 1972. It was the first Village Inn Pancake House to open in North Dakota. A second Bismarck location later opens at 2240 North 12th Street in 1977.
International Inn replaced both restaurants in 1986. Denny’s replaced the south location in 1988, while the north restaurant operated until 2007, changing formats to an oriental stir fry at some point while retaining the “International” branding. Today, the site houses La Quinta Inn & Suites.
The restaurant had no relationship to the similarly-named Village Inn Pizza Parlor, which opened one year apart at 434 South Third Street.
