The Wells Fargo Building in downtown Bismarck is undergoing renovations and a name change that reflects the site’s history.
Upgrades include lighted exterior columns and remodeling of the main floor commons. The top floor is also undergoing renovations, according to the Bismarck Tribune.
Once complete, the building will be re-christened Grand Pacific Center, which is a homage to the Grand Pacific Hotel that stood at the site, in various variations, between 1880-1974. Historic photos emphasizing the former hotel will be displayed as part of the project.
