One of the Bismarck Jimmy Johns locations is listed among several Jimmy Johns locations affected by a nationwide data breach, which resulted in possible credit card data theft. According to the Jimmy Johns website, the affected dates for the Bismarck restaurant were July 1-August 1, 2014.
Only one of the local Jimmy Johns restaurants, 301 South 3rd Street, is on the list of 216 affected locations.
Jimmy Johns first learned of the breach on July 30 and immediately took action to remove the detected malware and is working towards further precautions, according to an article in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul Business Journal. The company is offering free identity protection services to affected customers.
There has been a noticeable rise in major data breaches across the country, with such businesses as Target, Home Depot, and Supervalu also having recent breaches.
